•On Saturday, June 13th we will host the 1st Annual Water Safety Day
•The Idea to host a Water Safety Day came from the loss of Domonic Brown
•Primary marketing is being done as an in school Water Safety Presentation
•T-shirts for this event are currently in print

2014-2015 Stingrays
•April 12, 2015 we held our banquet at Paschals.
•The AWYY Stingrays celebrated with 120 guest including our student athletes.
•The celebration was worthy of 3.5 hours of practice 5 days a week or 910 hours per year.
•Not included in the practice times, your Stingrays attended 2 triathlons, 8 YMCA swim meets and 22 USA swim meets.

Water Safety Day Event
People are drawn to water. Look at any waterfront and you will likely see boardwalks, beaches, bike paths, marinas and plenty of people enjoying themselves.
We seek tropical beaches, ponds, lakes, pools and waterparks for vacation spots. There is no doubt that water is an important part of our lives.
Nearly 80% of people who die from drowning are male Among those 1-14, fatal drowning remains the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death behind motor vehicle crashes.
African American children 5-19 drown in swimming pools at rates 5.5 times higher than those of whites. This disparity is greatest among those 11-12 years where African Americans drown in swimming pools at rates 10 times those of whites.
